Julie Walburn is a senior trusted advisor and strategic communications expert and a nationally recognized public affairs leader with more than two decades of proven experience helping organizations navigate complex policy issues and shape public opinion. Able to build long-term, meaningful relationships with key stakeholders throughout the public and private sectors. As Vice President of Public Affairs at RedRock Strategies she develops and leads integrated public affairs campaigns that synergize communications, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, grassroots and grasstops outreach, fundraising, media relations, and community partnerships…to help high-profile clients achieve lasting and meaningful results.

Known for her thoughtful counsel, collaborative leadership, and ability to simplify complex issues, Julie works closely with senior executives, national and regional policymakers, business leaders, and community organizations to develop messaging and communication roadmaps that build trust, strengthen reputations, and inspire action. Whether guiding clients through legislative initiatives, high-profile public issues, or long-term advocacy campaigns, she is recognized for delivering visionary solutions with integrity, diplomacy, and a deep understanding of political and public policy landscapes.

An accomplished convincing writer, Julie is known for translating complex legislative, regulatory, and public policy issues into clear, compelling messages that resonate with decision-makers, stakeholders, the media, and the public. She has authored executive messaging, op-eds, policy papers, advocacy materials, thought leadership pieces, and integrated communications campaigns that have helped shape public dialogue, influence policy conversations, influence public opinion, and drive meaningful outcomes.

Throughout her career, Julie has successfully led communications and public affairs campaigns across the multi-state healthcare, technology, Fortune 500 businesses, nonprofit, and both the public and private education sectors.

Before joining RedRock Strategies in 2016, Julie had a proven track record of working throughout Nevada’s political landscape, managing high-profile campaigns and advising (both emerging and existing) leaders on communications, strategy, and public engagement. Her broad experience across legislative, executive, nonprofit, and private-sector environments enables her to bring both strategic perspective and practical insight to every client engagement.

Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Western Washington University and a master’s degree in teaching from Concordia University.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys traveling, attending concerts, volunteering in the community, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on her beloved Seattle Seahawks every football season.
